OKEECHOBEE – A entrance to the Darrell Enfinger Sports Complex is planned off U.S. 441.
At their April 25 meeting, Okeechobee County Commissioners approved a budget of $117,219 for the design and engineering for the project.
Design expected to be completed by Spring 2025.
The proposed project includes the development of an enhanced roadway into the Darrell Enfinger Sports Complex from US Highway 441 at an existing signalized intersection.
The exact location for the roadway has not yet been determined as the county will need to meet all FDOT permit requirements. This project is not expected to impact the on-going trail project at the Sports Complex.
The sports complex currently only has one entrance on Northwest 27th Lane.
